Introduction

The board of directors of the Phyto-info non-profit organization was held, following the convening of its President, on Octpber 7, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. (local time) by videoconference.

The President notes that all the members of the board of directors are present; the President then declares that the council can validly deliberate.

Closure of Facebook and Instagram accounts

Our top priority is respecting the privacy of our website users, which is why we have opted for an architecture that does not allow tracking of individuals in their searches. By eliminating all tracking, we offer a secure and confidential research space, and we are proud of it.

Our privacy policy is therefore in direct opposition to that of giants like Facebook/Instagram, which collect a significant amount of personal data on its users, data which can be used for advertising purposes or shared with third parties. It is also difficult to know exactly how Facebook/Instagram uses this data and with whom it is shared.

Additionally, the time spent on Facebook/Instagram adding content reduces our productivity and the time spent on other more important activities, such as adding plants to our database.

In conclusion, we have decided to stop using third-party tools that are at odds with our values. For this reason, we have decided to close our Facebook and Instagram accounts and will invite our current subscribers to sign up for our newsletter.
